In the 1980s, Ana and Dino, found their paths intertwined for the first time at the Hilton Cartagena Resort Hotel, the first luxury resort in the city. As the years rolled on, life began to pull them in different directions. Although they stayed connected through mutual friends, the demands of their careers in hospitality kept them busy. 

After the pandemic, Ana reached out to Dino and it was as if no time had passed at all. They reminisced about their days at the Hilton Resort, laughing over shared memories and the challenges faced in their careers. Ana’s love for their city ignited a question: “Why don’t we open a travel agency?” “But not just any agency—let’s create Cartagena VIP experiences!” They both knew that while tourists flocked to their city for its charm and beauty, many left unsatisfied due to overlooked details and missed opportunities. They envisioned a service that would ensure every visitor felt like a VIP—an experience tailored to highlight the best of what their city had to offer. The Adventure began! 

Jimmy, Ana’s son, an energetic entrepreneur and also a Cartagena local, joined them. Jimmy inherits his mother's enthusiasm, which has been cultivated through the family's history and traditions rooted in Cartagena. 

Word spread quickly about the personalized service they provided. Visitors began to rave about their trips—how they felt welcomed and cherished. With time, every customer evolved into a friend who shared in the same love for the city.

They initiated a remarkable change, transforming the Cartagena experience into something truly special. To this day, their efforts ensure that every visitor can enjoy the finest aspects of Cartagena. Interestingly, this journey also reflects the origin of the agency's name.

Our story is rooted in our beautiful city, and out of our love for it, we actively support the local communities that require our continued assistance. Therefore, we support a non-profit initiative that rebuilds roofs for victims of hurricane tailwinds. Welcome to our website! I am Ana. I was born in Cartagena, my beautiful city! Life brought me to Colorado, USA, but my heart stayed in Cartagena. My background in hospitality dates back to the 80s where I was blessed to have the opportunity to be an active part in Cartagena's process of going from a nice place to visit to one of the most outstanding tourism destinations.  My experience in Hospitality operation, technology and leadership has paved the way for the creation of our company. My experience includes leadership roles at Hilton and Accor and extensive customer relationship management experience in other service industries. 

My professional background is in Business Administration and Computer Science. I am an entrepreneur at heart and along my career I have built strong experience in multinational business development. My mission is to make sure the planet knows about my beautiful city and the majority of it makes at least one trip to see it and enjoy it!

I was born and raised on the shores of the Caribbean Sea in the Heroic and historic Cartagena de Indias, a city that I love deeply, its colorful streets and its walls full of charm and history motivated and inspired me to study Hospitality and Tourism, a profession that I have been practicing for 35 years, combining it with Teaching and today training hoteliers in the city of Cartagena.

I am pleased now to work from this platform The Best of Cartagena, to show the world the beauties of this city and recommend that they visit us as the best option in the Colombian Caribbean.
